These super-simple marinated prawns with chilli sauce are our new obsession

No matter how much planning we do, we’re always rushing like maniacs and trying to do things (everything?) in a super-speedy way.

So, with that in mind, we got this tasty go-to recipe for entertaining friends or family in a flash. Minimum time. Maximum results.

This recipe for tasty prawns with chilli sauce is a fail-safe addition to your recipe repertoire. Ideal for a summer starter, these fishy treats can be rustled up in minutes and popped in the fridge to marinade.

This recipe makes 4 portions.

Ingredients

  • 300 g cooked peeled prawns
  • 100 ml finely chopped onion
  • 2 skinned, unseeded, chopped tomatoes
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼-½ tsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp Siúcra Icing Sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 100 ml chopped parsley

Method

  • Mix the prawns with onion, tomato, salt, pepper, icing sugar, lemon juice, oil, chilli sauce and parsley.
  • Place in the fridge and allow to draw for at least 1 hour before serving.
