There's no doubt that many of us will remember our first bra fitting at M&S. As awkward and red-faced teenagers, a trip to M&S for your first training bra was quite the momentous day, and a place we've gone back to time and time again for reliable bra fittings.
Whether it's during pregnancy, after our thirties, or after a life-changing surgery, bra fittings shouldn't be something we dread.
M&S recently revealed a huge change to its bra fitting service after a successful trial in 23 stores.
Bra fitters will now move forward with a no-touch measuring method rather than using a measuring tape like they did in the past.
Fitters will now estimate your bra cup and band size by eye. They will then give the shopper a variety of bras to try on before deciding on the right size.
M&S offers a huge variety of bra fittings for customers, including a regular fit, maternity fit, post-surgery fit, and a nursing fit.
How often should we change our bras?
In a previous interview with Her.ie, Liz, a bra fitter at M&S on Grafton Street, Dublin, says we should be changing our bras every six to nine months if worn regularly.
This is to make sure we are always getting the most comfort and support from our bras.
Liz recommends that fittings should be done every six to twelve months.
"Like the rest of your body, your bra size can fluctuate with weight and hormonal changes, so it is important to have regular fittings," she explains.
"Our bodies change all the time, so it’s important to embrace change."
