Pinterest board of the week: Handmade Charlotte

For DIY projects, family finds and cool kid's decor

Sive O'Brien

I’m a pinner. A seriously addicted pinner, that is. If there were a help group for Pinterest addiction, I would be there.

Any chance I get, I’m pouring my eye-popping peepers over some of my favourite things: décor, kid’s clothes, art, illustration, typography and DIY projects. It’s all about my fantasy life, really. My little escapism, where I lust after visual treats and happily pin away for hours (if allowed), like I’m pretty sure, one day, this beautifully photographed life will be mine.

Pinterest gets slack for just that. Fuelling people’s dreams to live cutesy, postcard-perfect lives they just can’t afford. Making people materialistic, adding to their consumerism. But to me, that’s the beauty of it. It’s aspirational, it fuels my creative juices, broadens my horizons and gives me an appreciation for the finer things in life. And who cares if it’s all fantasy life stuff, if you can’t dream, then you’re just dull.

For anyone who’s creative, gets palpitations from good design and beautiful imagery, Pinterest is cheap entertainment at it’s best.

This week (and many weeks), the Handmade Charlotte Pinterest board floats our (perfectly painted and pristine) boats.

Check out our gallery above for a few of their best pins.
