Small Irish businesses you can buy from online during the COVID-19 shutdown

Melissa Carton

It’s important to support small businesses.

Ireland has no end of incredible small businesses but unfortunately many of them will be impacted by the current coronavirus shutdown.

Businesses across the country have taken the very responsible decision to close to protect their staff and customers and instead turn to online stores so that customers can still buy from them.

Well all this is over and done with, I really want these businesses to still be around and the only way that can happen is if we all continue to support them now.

I could have written a list with hundreds of suggestions but for today here is a list of six great small Irish businesses you should consider shopping from during the shutdown.

These suggestions are a mixture of kid’s wear and women’s wear but leave me a comment if you know of any great small Irish shops for dads.

1)Chaos and Harmony

Choas and Harmony is a great shop if you’re looking for cute and quirky kids clothing.

Run by mum Róisín it’s the perfect online shop to find something very special.

2)Fayebella

Faybella is one of my newest finds and I really can’t get enough of their Instagram feed.

Run by mums for mums it’s got everything you could want for casual to dressy to get you through this summer.

3)Fancy Fawn

Fancy Fawn has to be one of my favourite kids brands, not just because the designs are super cute but also because they are made from sustainable materials.

The brand came onto the scene last year with their jumpers, dresses and scrunchies, but keep an eye open because they are soon to add ethical leggings to their range.

4)Om Diva

Om Diva has been one of my go to stores in Dublin for a long time, in fact I remember spending my first pay cheque when I got a job in here.

Full of unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else Om Diva recently started up a Depop shop so that you can still grab some of their gorgeous wares while their shop in Dublin is closed.

5)Babygrow.ie

I’ve bought so many babygrows from Babygrow.ie over the last two years.

Beautifully designed and usually sporting a zip down the front instead of buttons (so handy) I can not recommend this little shop enough to new parents.

6)Sandia

I have so many necklaces and earrings from Sandia and every time I wear them I get asked about where I got them.

Handmade with love these pieces are truly special.

At the moment Sandia are making incredible mystery boxes containing a selection of pieces from their collection which might be a nice treat to stave off the cabin fever.
