We’ll definitely be picking up this €15 Penneys kimono at the weekend

We all need a wardrobe refresh at this time of year but it can be tricky to figure out what to pick up when the weather is still so chilly. Layering is your friend when you don't know what to go for so we absolutely adore versatile pieces that you can pile on with other bits. A kimono is a solid piece that's well worth picking up for this time of year. You can pop it over a crisp white shirt shirt or snug polo neck while it's nippy now but you'll find yourself reaching for it to throw over a cami or to wear on its own once the weather warms up. Penneys has come out with its own take on the trend and it's just what we've been looking for. The embroidered floral detail is a subtle nod to the season and makes it far more interesting and expensive looking. It's available in black and khaki and costs just €15. The kimono comes with its own tie but we'd rather leave it open or cinch it in with a statement belt. This River Island belt with a horseshoe buckle (€17) would make the perfect contrast against the khaki-coloured kimono.   We'd pair the black kimono with this faux leather corset-style belt (€24.32) from ASOS to add some drama and contrast.
