RTÉ has 'paused' its commercial partnership with Penneys ahead of this year's Late Late Toy Show.
Irish retailer Penneys won't be releasing a 2025 Toy Show collection, a spokesperson for the retailer has confirmed.
The news comes after an RTÉ Investigates programme found that Bangladeshi factories, which supply to Penneys, sourced cotton from two Chinese forced labour camps.
Penneys confirmed their partnership with RTÉ is paused, but they hope to renew it in 2026.
"Penneys ordering deadline for the Late Late Toy Show pyjamas coincided with the initial conversations with RTÉ Investigates," a spokesperson for the retailer shared.
RTÉ issued a statement confirming the news:
"The RTÉ Late Late Toy Show partnership with Penneys will not go ahead this year for a number of reasons relating to challenges in adhering to the timeline necessary to ensure key deadlines could be met."
The tradition between RTÉ and Penneys may not be going ahead, but that doesn't mean you can't continue it with your family.
These personalised Toy Show pyjamas are a lovely alternative if you’re hoping to continue the tradition with your kids.

During their 10-year partnership with the Toy Show, Penneys donated an astonishing €650,000 to children’s charities.
They also raised funds for RTÉ's Toy Show Appeal.
The Irish retailer stressed that there is no link between their Toy Show range and the RTÉ Investigates findings.
"There is no suggestion of any link between the [Toy Show] range and the questions raised in the programme."
The brand is 'very proud' of its partnership and hopes to revisit it in 2026.
