The youngster was given the diagnosis before Christmas in 2019 and in March 2020 underwent a huge operation just as Covid restrictions were coming into place.
Saoirse then went through ten rounds of chemo and was fitted with a prosthetic leg the following November.
"It’s very important that people realise you don’t get back to that life that you had,' she said. 'It’s very different and always will be," Roseanna continued.
It was then earlier this year that Saoirse began to complain about chest pains and they took a trip to the GP, only to be sent to hospital for tests and another tumour was discovered.
Roseanna said that she was "absolutely floored" by the news the doctor gave her, saying: "Her words to me were, “Do you want to get your husband to come in?"
Thankfully, they had caught the tumour early and Saoirse could be treated, with Roseanna adding: "She was very lucky... because the tumour was attached to her lung and her chest wall, it was causing this pain. So it was picked up very quickly, I suppose."
Saoirse underwent another surgery in May of this year and after a stint in ICU, she is now on the mend.Explore more on these topics:
