The 44-year-old mum said they she had taken just a couple of puffs of the vape, when she suddenly started to feel unwell.
The mother of three went outside, thinking some fresh air would make her feel better but she soon found herself unable to move or speak.
"I was freezing cold but sweating and looked like I’d gotten into the shower fully clothed. It was the most horrendous experience I’ve ever had."A couple walking nearby came to the aid of Emma and her friends and an ambulance was soon called. Emma was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton to be treated and while she has recovered physically, she says she is still emotionally shaken from the experience.
“I didn’t know that a vape could be spiked but you would only have to dip it into something to spike the mouthpiece."
Since her terrifying ordeal, Emma has been trying to raise awareness of the incident.
Emma, who has worked with domestic violence groups, said that while she was well aware that spiking happens, she never thought it would happen to her because she's always so careful with her drink on nights out.
Since her experience, Emma wants other women to know that other things, like vapes, can be spiked and to always be cautious when offered anything by a stranger.
