Students received their results earlier this month.

10 percent of students are believed to have been affected by two errors in the Leaving Cert grading system.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin told the Dáil today that the Department of Education found two errors in 2020’s system, which was introduced to replace the standard test format cancelled due to coronavirus.

RTÉ News reports that while responding to a question from Labour leader Alan Kelly, Martin said that the government’s first priority is to inform the students whose grades have been affected by the errors.

It is thought that 10 percent of the 61,000 students who received their Leaving Cert results earlier this month are affected.

This news comes as new students across the country attend college for the first time, many of whom will be engaging in online learning.

Minister for Education Norma Foley is expected to give a statement on the matter soon.
