At Home: 13-year-old boy dies in tragic school accident in Kilkenny

A 13-year-old boy has tragically died in an incident at the school in Co. Kilkenny.

The young boy was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

It is believed the young boy was injured when he was hit by a sliotar.

Gardaí confirmed this is being treated as a tragic accident.

Woman in her 40s dies in Co. Meath car crash

A woman in her 40s has sadly passed away in a car crash in Co. Meath.

The incident occurred on Bush Road in the Gibbstown area of Meath.

It is understood a car collided with a lorry at 4.40 pm on November 9th.

The woman was the sole occupant of the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver was uninjured.

Gardaí confirmed a postmortem will take place.

Covid: None of the pregnant women admitted to ICU were fully vaccinated

A new report has confirmed none of the pregnant women admitted to ICU were fully vaccinated.

35 women were admitted to ICU with Covid-19 and only one was partially vaccinated.

34 women were unvaccinated, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre revealed.

The women who were admitted to intensive care were pregnant, or within 6 weeks away from their due date.

A third of them had an underlying condition or were in their third trimester.

The age of patients ranged between 18 and 44.

One of the women was in ICU for 77 days.

The 35 women who were in ICU needed severe medical intervention, the report found. Half of them needed invasive ventilatory support.

Weather: Rainy conditions set to return later this week

The rainy weather is set to make a return later this week after a mild start to November.

The weather will turn unsettled on Thursday evening.

Met Éireann confirmed, “It will turn wetter and windier Thursday evening and night.”

Friday will be a blustery day with temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

“There will be widespread rain during the night and into Friday morning with strong winds in places.”

The quarter-final saw the bakers struggle with creating free-from bakes, including a gluten-free showstopper.

Chigs was crowned star baker for the second time in the series.
