17-year-old boy killed in collision between car and lorry in Cavan

The collision occurred on Thursday evening.

A 17-year-old boy has sadly died after a road traffic collision in Co. Cavan.

Gardaí are investigating the collision between a lorry and a car.

The incident occurred on the N3, Kilnalack, Co. Cavan at approximately 6 pm on June 9th.

Emergency services rushed the teenager to Cavan General Hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, the young man died at the hospital a short time later.

A man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s were also taken to Cavan General Hospital. However, their injuries are not life-threatening.

Gardaí are currently investigating the accident.

The road has been closed for a technical examination.

Local diversions are now in place.

Anyone who has information about the collision should contact Gardaí.

Road users who were on the N3 between Butlersbridge and Belturbet at the time of the accident should contact Gardaí. Anyone with dashcam footage should also come forward.

Gardaí are also asking people who were in this area between 5.45 and 6.30 pm to help with the investigation.
