Company offers free cleaning to women with cancer

A cleaning company is offering their services free of charge to women suffering from cancer. Cleaning for a Reason is the brainchild of owner Debbie Sardone, from Texas in the United States, who came up with the idea after a client at a previous cleaning company she worked for was forced to cancel her cleaner because she couldn't afford the weekly visit while undergoing treatment. When Debbie shared her concept at an industry convention, support exploded and Cleaning For A Reason took off across the United States and Canada.

"Our mission is to give the gift of free house cleaning for women undergoing treatment for any type of cancer" says the non-profit's mission statement. "Our goal is to let these brave and strong women focus on their health and treatment while we focus on, and take away the worry and work of, cleaning their homes– free of charge."

Over 1,200 maid services have been recruited to donate free housecleaning to women who are undergoing treatment for cancer, volunteering their time to clean for over 19,500 women since 2006 – a service valued at over €5,500,000.
