Every person in the town of Tenney's Harbour is well aware about the Garrison tragedy: when an unexplained fire ripped through the home, killing four of the five family members.
Most of the people blame Pearl Haskins' father, the caretaker of the place, but she doesn't believe it.
While she continues to wait the tables at the local country club, Tristan - the last of the Garrison family - and his group of friends continue to sit her section. And while, for the most part, she's totally repulsed by them, there's something about Tristan's sadness that draws her in.
