First-time mum Clare is one of those voices offering support online, sharing content under the name It’s My Moon River, with a focus on “mum tok” inspiration and baby name ideas.

One of her recent videos has racked up hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok.

In the caption, she explained: “A small selection of my favourite Irish girl names. Fiadh is actually very popular now, but I love it too much not to include! There are so many more beautiful names I could add here."

The clip further features seven “beautiful Irish names for girls”, which include:

• Ríona, pronounced “Ree-uh-na” or “Ree-na” and said to mean “queen” or “queenly”.
• Croía, pronounced Kree-ah or crea; often an affectionate term interpreted as “little heart”. The name can similarly mean “heart”, “of the heart” or “from the heart”.
• Éire, pronounced Air-uh or Air-ah; this is the Irish language name for the country and lands of Ireland. It’s said to derive from the goddess Ériu, signifying the “land of Ériu”.
• Fiadh, pronounced Fee-ah, this is one for the nature lovers as it means “wild”, “untamed”, “deer”, and more, and is often associated with nature.
• Íde, pronounced Ee-da or Ee-duh, and believed to mean “thirst” in relation to knowledge and goodness, as well as “longing”.
• Laoise, pronounced Lee-sha or Lee-shuh, means “light”, “brightness” or “radiant girl”, and some sources also link it to “famous warrior”.
• Síofra, pronounced Shee-fra or Shee-fruh, is popular amongst fantasy lovers as it’s said to mean “elf”, “sprite”, “fairy” and “changeling”.

People were quick to praise these beautiful names, with many revealing their children's names had been featured in Clare's list.
