9-month-old boy drowns in Father’s Day tragedy

A tragic loss

A 9-month-old boy tragically passed away on Father’s Day in a drowning incident. On what is usually a day filled with celebration, one family faced every parents’ worst nightmare when their baby boy died suddenly. 

The tragic accident took place in Pink Hill, North Carolina. Lenoir County Sheriff issued a statement following the harrowing event.

They revealed that both emergency responders and the parents of the infant attempted life saving treatment, but were unable to revive him.

They stated: “Lenoir County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a 911 call from 5258 Murphy Road in Pink Hill in reference to a child not breathing.”

Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram added: “Any loss of a child is a terrible tragedy, especially on a special event such as Father’s Day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family for their loss.”

It is understood that a full investigation will take place. The name of the infant and their parents will not be released to the public.
