And there will be treacherous driving conditions during this time due to hail.
Good Friday will be another cooler day, with northeast breezes and further heavy or prolonged showers.
The risk of hail and thunder will also continue into the weekend.
But it's not all bad news for during the day, with some spells of sunshine at times forecast, too.
There will be temperature highs of 6C to 9C, with the coolest areas being in the east.
Meanwhile, there will be a few showers persisting near Irish Sea coasts on Friday night but otherwise it is expected to be dry with good clear spells developing.
Temperatures will drop to -1C to 4C in some areas, with the midlands and the west being the coldest with a risk of frost.
The forecaster continued:
"Lots of dry and bright weather on Saturday with sunny spells and just isolated showers, these most likely in eastern coastal counties. Brisk northeasterly winds will ease during the day. Top temperatures of 6C to 9C degrees. "Mostly dry overnight with clear spells and frost in sheltered spots but there will be a few showers near southern and eastern coasts. Minimum temperatures of -2C to +3C degrees."
