Another day, another weather warning.

Met Éireann have confirmed that three counties are set to see some pretty grim weather tonight, as they issue another weather warning.

The status yellow wind warning covers Clare, Cork, and Kerry. It comes into effect at 6pm tonight and will remain in place until 6am on Sunday, December 9.

A forecaster said that, under the warning, west to northwest winds will reach average speeds of  55 to 60 km/h with gusts 90 to 110 km/h in Kerry and in the west of Cork and Clare.

And the forecast for the rest of the country isn’t looking too good, either.

Saturday will be another windy day, with occasional showers – some heavy, with a slight risk of thunder in the west. However, there will also be bright and sunny spells – particularly in the east and south.

Maximum temperatures will be between 9C and 12C, before dropping as low as 4C overnight.

On Saturday night, there will be more showers, but also some clear spells.

Sunday will be a bright day, with sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers will remain mainly in the northwest and north during the afternoon.

A forecaster added:

“Very unsettled weather continuing throughout next week, with occasional rain and strong winds, but dry spells also.

“Temperatures will vary from day to day, though early indications suggest that it will turn cold towards the end of the week.”
