The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby girl.
The Princess was born at 8.34am today in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s hospital in Paddington, London, where crowds are gathering in anticipation of the family’s exit.
A sister to Prince George of Cambridge, born on July 22nd, 2013, the couple’s first daughter, who weighs 8lb 3oz, will be fourth in line to the throne, thanks to new laws allowing female children the same rights as male heirs.
Kate and William were driven to the hospital just before 6am this morning, with a palace source confirming the labour was ‘progressing normally.’
Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton are expected to visit their new granddaughter in the hospital as messages of congratulations pour in from all over the world. Prince Harry, currently in Australia continuing his secondment with the Australian army. will likely offer his congrats to his older brother and his wife over the phone.
The Duke and Duchess are expected to make a public exit from the hospital, just as they did when George was born, in the coming days.
