A dark-coloured car was involved.
Gardaí in Co. Cavan have launched an investigation after an attempted kidnapping.
It is believed a person in a dark coloured car tried to abduct a young boy in Mullagh on Tuesday.
Gardaí told The Mirror, “Gardaí in Mullagh, Co. Cavan are investigating all the circumstances in relation to an incident that is alleged to have occurred yesterday evening, Tuesday 28th September 2021.”
“Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”
The abduction comes a week after a woman tried to kidnap a child in a Kerry supermarket.
A mum confirmed a woman tried to grab her son from his pram twice in Tralee.
The attempted kidnapping took place in Tralee on September 23rd at 12.30 pm.
“It was traumatising but I feel sorry for her because she obviously wasn’t well,” the mum admitted.
It is understood the woman was suffering from mental health issues.
She continued: “The scary thing is that you could think of stuff happening like that in the big cities or big places, like Dublin or Limerick, but you wouldn’t think something like that could happen in Kerry.”
The mum stressed that her son was not harmed and he is doing fine, adding that he is “happy out”.
The mum warned other parents to be vigilant because you never know what could happen.
“You have to be careful. Nobody is expecting something like that to happen but everyone has to be careful, even with older children,” she stressed.
It is believed the incidents are not connected.
