Won’t someone please think of the children.

It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, The Muppets will always have a place in people’s hearts. Especially the central characters such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Elmo.

We’ve grown up with their unique voices and as soon as you see the characters you can hear the voices in your head.

Well, prepare to get to know a new Kermit as the current Kermit has quit.

According to The BBC, voice actor Steve Whitmire has quit, after 27 years.

Kermit the Frog quits

He took over from the Muppets’ creator Jim Henson, who originally voiced the role, in 1990 and has voiced the Kermit we all know and love.

There has been no indication or reason given as to why he has quit, but they’ve already found a replacement for him in Matt Vogel.

Vogel is set to appear in a video next week marking his first appearance as Kermit. He has already voiced Kermit’s imitator Constantine in the film Muppets Most Wanted.
