A man has contacted police to say he thinks he is missing toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared on the Greek island of Kos in 1991.

A DNA test has been organised after the man got in touch following an emotional television appeal by the Needham family, who are from Sheffield in the UK.

Ben’s mum Kerry Needham, his sister Leighanna and his grandmother Christine appealed to anyone who might have information about what happened to the child on Greek TV last night.

A distraught Kerry asked viewers to ‘end the pain’ that her family still suffers 24 years after the 21-months-old child vanished from outside a farmhouse the family were renovating in the village of Iraklise.

On the day of his disappearance Ben had been left in the care of his grandparents while his mother went to work at a local hotel. Ben had been coming in and out of the house that he was playing outside when, at approximately 2.30pm, the adults realised he had disappeared.

Age progression pictures suggest how Ben might look now, aged 25.
