The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a warning over certain Ambiano Ionic Hairdryers sold in Aldi stores between August and September 2025.
Around 5,400 of the affected hairdryers were sold in Ireland, with customers being advised to return them to their nearest Aldi for a full refund.
The safety concern relates to the hairdryer's power cord, which may become damaged over time.
This could expose live wires or cause the appliance to overheat, potentially putting customers at risk.
The CCPC has insisted that customers stop using the product immediately, even if their hairdryer appears to be in perfect condition.

The recalled Ambiano Ionic Hairdryers were sold in four colours, black, white, yellow and orange.
Customers can check the affected products by looking at the barcode on the underside of the hairdryer.
The codes of affected products are as follows:
Anyone who owns one of these affected hairdryers should stop using it and return it to their nearest Aldi store to receive a full refund.
The CCPC has warned customers not to take any risks with their safety, emphasising that the hairdryer should be returned even if there are no visible signs of damage.
