A Co Longford mother has gone missing in Dublin – and her worried family are appealing for help finding her.

Her son, Peter, explained in a Facebook posted shared over the weekend: “This is my mother Anne Murphy. She left the house here in Ballymahon Co. Longford on Thursday morning at 9 am to catch a bus to Longford train station where she was to get a train to Dublin.

“She didn’t meet the person she was supposed to meet in Dublin and her mobile phone is switched off. Nobody has spoke to her since Thursday morning.

“Could I ask people to please share this post and if anyone has any info could you please please inform the gaurds or myself. Thank you.”

A second appeal made by Peter on Sunday stated: “I just spoke to a girl who 100 percent spoke to Anne Murphy on Thursday evening around half 8 at the LUAS Station in Ranalagh Dublin.

“She was wearing a heavy dark green jacket, almost black, baggy trousers with navy and maroon print on them and Red Doc Martin boots.

“Maybe you could share this as an update folks and anyone with valid info can contact me through facebook or Ballymahon/Longford Gardai. Thank you.”
