Another weather warning issued as heavy rain expected today

HerFamily

We’ve been saying it a lot lately but it appears the unsettled weather is set to continue… for this week anyway.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Cork, Kerry and Waterford as 25-30mm is expected to fall by the end of today.

It will start out dry in most parts with just the odd scattered shower but the forecaster has said that a heavier spell of wet and windy weather will arrive later this morning and remain this afternoon.

Heavy downpours are expected this evening with highest temperatures between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius. It will turn dry overnight with a chance of mist and fog.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) will be dry and reasonably mild with a mixture of brighter spells and outbreaks of rain. Highest temperatures will be around 13 degrees Celsius.

As for the rest of the week, it looks to be quite mild with wet and windy conditions. We will of course keep you posted if that changes.

For now, we’d say to wrap up in your rain gear and take extra care on the roads.
