Ant McPartlin back on the road five months before drink driving ban due to be lifted

Ant McPartlin is back on the road five months before his drink driving ban was set to be lifted.

The I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here presenter had his license taken away in April of last year following a crash in London which led to a child requiring medical treatment.

He was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months.

The Sun reports that McPartlin is now permitted to drive after completing a course that reduced his ban by five months.

He was seen driving his Range Rover with girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett around west London this week.

A source told the publication that although the TV star is delighted to be back on the road, he still hasn’t forgotten what happened.

“It hasn’t diminished the impact of everything which has happened, and remains fresh in his mind,” they said.

“It’s been a dreadful time and he has many regrets, but he’s very pleased to be getting back to normality too.

“The course is not something unique to him or his celeb status. Anyone could have done the same. It usually leads to a ban being reduced by a quarter.”

McPartlin will be returning to hosting duties on I’m A Celeb following his break from the show last year.

Holly Willoughby stood in for the 43-year-old alongside Declan Donnelly during last year’s series of the reality TV programme.

Filming began for the upcoming series earlier this week.
