Ant McPartlin and wife Lisa Armstrong hoping to reunite this Christmas

The pair were said to have separated last month.

While reports last month suggested Ant McPartlin and his wife Lisa Armstrong had split, it is now being said that the pair plan to spend one last Christmas together. The couple have spent the last few weeks living separately as Ant works on I’m A Celebrity in Australia, however, it’s now being said that Ant will return to the couple’s marital home when the show is finished. Lisa is currently working as the head makeup artist on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK, but has reportedly told friends the pair will spend Christmas together. However, it's also said that she doesn’t necessarily believe that that would lead to a reconciliation.

“She’s said they will see each other over Christmas,” a source told Heat. “Lisa would rather stay friendly than be resentful. She doesn’t want to ruin what they had – this isn’t a blame game. “Ant wants to spend this Christmas with Lisa; Christmas as her husband – even if this could be the last time.”

After news of the pair's rumoured separation surfaced, sources said that Ant's stint in Australia would be the "make or break" of the couple.

"It’s going to be a make or break few weeks as they decide how they feel about each other," the source said. "But the sad reality is that it’s not looking positive that the marriage will survive long-term."

Ant spent two months in rehab earlier this year for an addiction to painkillers. He admitted after his time there to putting his wife of 11 years “through hell” with his mood swings.
