Much is always said about romantic comedies (and many love to slag them off for their lack of substance), but let’s all agree on this: When it comes to sitting down to watch something that will just put a smile on your face and make you feel like there is still good and happy in this world, few things can beat a good, aul romantic comedy.
And just think of how many great ones there are to chose from – from Bridget Jones to Clueless, or something more vintage like Breakfast at Tiffany’s or When Harry met Sally – or how about some of Hugh Grant’s best moments in Four Weddings and a Funeral or – sigh – Love Actually?
We all have different favourites, of course, and the beauty is that in some way, people keep a special place in their heart for certain romantic comedies, maybe one you saw at a time in your life when you could all sorts of relate or just one that lifted your spirit when you most needed it.
