Sleep deprived and unable to imagine your life without coffee (lots and lots of coffee)?

We hear ya.

We have all been there, those mornings when you literally cannot see straight before you have inhaled your morning java – and jokingly made reference to how handy it would be if you could have your caffeine injected through an IV. Your move, science.

Now, it seems, you can. Well, almost, anyway.

With the new Joule caffeine bracelet (which will set you back $32 on Indiegogo), you can pop the bracelet on, and – get this – be absorbing caffeine right through your skin. Whaaa?!

How has nobody thought of this before? The sweet, life-giving gift of caffeine, slowly just dripping in while you get on with your morning (or midday or afternoon or whenever). We are bowing down to these clever creators.

The makers are comparing the bracelet to a nicotine patch, but instead of hits of nic, you get hits of energy. Currently in its crowdfunding phase, the creators claim the accessory offers “all the positives of your coffee or energy drink with none of the negatives.”

So how much punch can a little bracelet pack, you wonder? Well, apparently one patch contains the same amount of caffeine as a medium cuppa joe, but instead of chugging all at once or sipping slowly, the Joule allows you to absorb the caffeine over four hours, prolonging your energy high and helping you avoid the nasty crash.

The caffeine will even hit your system sooner when absorbed through the skin, and the effect of it will be stronger as it doesn’t have to go through your digestive system.

Currently only the prototype is available, but we are hoping we can pick this up in Boots any day now!
