Argos has issued a recall due to safety concerns.

The retailer is asking customers to return certain Mamas & Papas infant carriers (Mercury Group 0+).

It said in a statement on its website: “Following recent testing we found that the seat cover on the Mamas & Papas Mercury Infant Carrier (Black) catalogue number 316/9539 & Mamas & Papas Mercury Infant Carrier (Grey) catalogue number 382/0971 doesn’t meet Furniture & Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations.

“As a precaution we have taken the decision to recall this product.”

Argos added: “Check to see if your model is impacted by looking at the orange or white sticker on the side of the carrier. Impacted products can be identified by looking at the ECE & model numbers.

“If yours is affected we recommend that you return it to your nearest Argos store for a full refund as soon as possible.”

The Competition And Consumer Protection Commission also added detail on the recall to its own website.

Argos has now set-up a helpline to deal with any queries you might have; you can call on 1800 535 091.
