Attention parents: Fingerlings Hugs are on the way and they’re the cutest ones yet

We know, we know: it feels like it's too early to be talking about the 'C' word just yet. But there's less than six months to go, which means that the must-have toys of the holiday season are going to be hitting shelves very soon. The original ones were the IT toy over the holidays last year - and, let's face it, poor Santa probably broke his back dragging those tiny plastic monkeys to homes across the globe. Then came the Fingerling Minis, which were intended to be a bit of a collectable. They were smaller and even cuter than the original, and could hang off everything from pencils to necklaces to actual full-sized Fingerlings. And now WowWee, the company behind the craze, have brought out yet another version of the sought-after toy - and they're going to be over here soon. Fingerlings Hugs are a bigger, softer plush version of the original Bella and Boris Fingerlings baby monkeys. Available in pink and blue, they each have their own ways of responding to cuddles and affection. With more than 40 animations, Fingerlings Hugs will respond when your little one pets, swings or rocks them to sleep - and, on the off chance you drop them, they say 'ouch'. Fingerlings Hugs can also record what your child says and repeat it back to them in a funny voice, and its arms can wrap around your child for a hug - so, basically, it's very easy to take just about anywhere. According to Smyths' website, the Fingerlings Hugs will be available in Ireland some time between August 3 and August 10. In the meantime, though, you can pre-order them here.
