It does look very familiar.

A British author is claiming that John Lewis ripped off a character from his book to use in its Christmas advert this year.

As we know, John Lewis released their 2017 Christmas advert last Friday. With the title Under The Bed, it featured a monster called Moz who lived under a child’s bed and kept him awake with his snoring and farting.

Author Chris Riddell has now come forward to accuse the retailer of copying his character and storyline from his book, Mr Underbed.

Chris wrote his book in 1986, and shared a video of him comparing his 2009 edition of the book with the brand new advert.

Following on from this claim, lots of people are suggesting that everyone should buy a copy of Mr Underbed.
