But it wasn't long before doctors realised that the unborn baby Angerson would be too big for her to carry to full term, so they decided to keep her in for a C-section, the Mail reports.

Angerson is the largest baby ever born in the state (Hospital Padre Colombo)[/caption]
Surgeons carried out the procedure the next day, and Angerson was born weighing 7.328 kilogrammes and measuring 59 centimetres.
He has since been in an incubator but is in a stable condition and has no abnormalities.
He is so big that normal baby clothes don't fit him, so the hospital has launched a fundraiser to help the family out by taking in donations of extra-large nappies and clothes that are usually for babies aged between nine months and a year.

Although Angerson holds the state record, he is still some way short of the all-time world record.
According to Guinness World Records, that title belongs to Sig. Carmelina Fedele, who weighed a staggering 10.2 kilogrammes (22lb 8oz) when he was born in Aversa, Italy, in September 1955.
