
Shock after baby is discovered alone in pram late at night in Dublin
A passerby waited for the baby's carer to appear, but nobody showed up.
A baby was found alone in a pram in Dublin on Monday night, Gardaí have confirmed.
The child has since been handed over to the Gardaí.
The infant, believed to be a few months old, was handed into a garda station.
The child was discovered by a passerby in the Mountjoy area on Monday night.
The baby was reportedly found outside the Mater Hospital.
A woman found the infant unattended at around 9 pm on January 23rd.
According to The Independent, the woman waited with the baby for an hour, but nobody showed up.
After the child's parent/guardian failed to show up, the woman decided it would be best to bring them to a nearby station.
The woman decided to bring the child to Mountjoy Garda Station.
The women then handed the infant over to the Gardaí.
In a statement to Her.ie, Gardaí confirmed;
"Gardaí attended the scene of an incident in the Mountjoy area, Dublin 7 on Monday evening 23rd January 2023.
"Owing to the sensitive nature of this incident there is no further information available."
