Baby seriously injured after being hit in the eye with a golf ball

A man has been arrested.

A three-month-old baby has been left seriously injured after he was hit in the eye with a golf ball. According to Birmingham Live, the boy was rushed to the hospital after the incident, which happened at a playground in Sheldon, Birmingham just after 8.40pm on Friday night. The baby remains in hospital on Saturday morning, according to police. A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He is also currently in hospital, although his condition is not known. West Midlands Police have launched an investigation into the incident. A spokesperson for the police said:

"Officers were alerted by ambulance colleagues to reports that a baby had been hit in the eye with a golf ball on a playground outside Radley court. ‘The three-month-old baby boy was taken to hospital with a serious eye injury, where he remains this morning, "A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in hospital.
