Balloons, face-painting and colouring: what to do with the kids tomorrow

Gillian Fitzpatrick

A whole two school-free days is something that children – understandably – look forward to… but parents have rather more mixed views.

Mid-term: fantastic in theory, but in reality a bit of a ‘mare when it comes to changing schedules and keeping them occupied.

And with the weather right now being less than lovely (read: it’s chilly, wet, and pretty nasty), we guess spending tomorrow and Friday on the beach or running up the side of a hill are out (the weather is the only reason, we swear).

So if you are in last-chance activity salon and are searching for something FREE and easy – McDonald’s is doing a Family Fun Day that we have to say we very much like the look of.

It’s taking place in outlets nationwide between 12pm and 6pm and is being themed around the newly-released Lego Batman movie.

Children are being encouraged to arrive in Batman costume (we’re sure parents are welcome to dress up too), or else just drop in to get their face painted (it’s sadly unlikely adult face-painting will entertained).

There will also be balloon-modelling, colouring competitions and entertainment on offer.

They’ll be happy and occupied; we’ll be having a large coffee… bliss!
