Barry Keoghan only took one day off filming when his baby was born
The Irish man taking Hollywood by storm became a father to 17-month-old Brando while in the middle of shooting Saltburn.
Speaking to GQ about the experience Barry said, “They gave me a day off. Day off, and straight on to night shoots and night feedings – boom!
“It was probably the best time of my life, to be quite fair. Havin’ a baby boy and leading a movie. It was the best time of my life.”
The proud dad shares his little boy with his ex-girlfriend Alyson Kierans, a dentist whose father is from County Cavan.
The two split in July last year after two and a half years together but still co-parent their son.
Despite all the big changes in his life in recent times, Barry said that fatherhood hasn’t changed him as a person it has affected which roles he takes and where he’s willing to travel.
“I feel an enormous amount of pressure, which is good. And I can’t get the little boy off my mind. It’s beautiful. Y’know, it’s crazy, but when he looks at you, you feel like the most important person in the world,” the 31-year-old said.
“That’s the effect he has on me. He smiles at you and you’re like, Wow, you’re smiling at me like that? I don’t deserve that, but anyways, thanks.”
Barry recently began dating pop singer Sabrina Carpenter and it was rumoured that the two were going to make their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes.
A source told The Sun that the Irish actor has informed his ex-girlfriend about their relationship.
He wanted Alyson Kierans to know about their romance before she heard about it on social media. Barry thought it was best that Alyson was the first to know about him and Sabrina so she wouldn’t be hurt if she found out on social media.
“He is spending a lot of time in the States and has invited Sabrina to be his ‘plus one’ at the Golden Globes. Alyson and Barry still communicate for the sake of Brando and he has been open about his new relationship.”
Despite the rumours, the Dublin attended the event alone.
