We sea what you did there, guys.

It’s almost the time of year to get your 2018 calendar – and these bearded mermen are here to help.

The guys behind the Newfoundland and Labrador Beard and Moustache Club in Canada posed in their finest fins for a sassy dudeoir-style calendar.

The 2018 Merb’ys calendar combines the word mermen with the Newfoundland term b’y (pronounced bye), a similar term to the word buddy.

All of the money raised will go towards the mental health organisation, Spirit Horse NL.

The group’s founder Hasan Hai said that they have sold over 500 calendars so far through pre-orders.

He added to HuffPost:

“Something about a bunch of bearded men being comfortable in their own skin ― and being extremely vulnerable in ways that defy traditional standards of masculinity ― seems to have connected with people.”

And it sounds like the lads definitely brought their A-game when it came time for the photoshoot – although they had a bit of trouble with the tails.

Hasan added:

“We were doubling over laughing and trying to wipe the tears from our eyes.

“I was the informal artistic director at each shoot so I had the pleasure of telling burly bearded fellows to hold hands, blow one another kisses, or bat their eyes at one another.”

He explained to the CBC that he decided to organise a calendar after a pal posted a photo of a mercreature themed dudeoir shoot on his Facebook wall.

He shared an “open call to the universe” to try and recruit people to help, which he said received an unexpectedly high response.
He says that around 70 or 80 people got on touch offering to model or photograph.

The calendar is available via their website for $25 (€16.92).
