Belfast woman dies after fall from balcony on holiday in Turkey

Tributes have been paid to a nurse who tragically passed away on a family holiday in Turkey.

It is understood Seaneen McCullough, from Belfast, died after falling from a balcony on Wednesday morning.

The 37-year-old mother was on holiday with her son Eoin and partner Paul.

A friend of Seaneen’s, Mary Maxwell spoke to Belfast Live:

“Seaneen was a person who we don’t meet to often in life.”

“She had time for every single person that she knew and valued everything that mattered to others.”

“Seaneen was always ready to listen and help those through their difficult times.”

Seaneen worked in the Mater Hospital Unison branch. They also paid tribute to their friend and colleague on their Facebook page.

They said:

“It is with deep regret that we learn of the tragic passing of our friend, colleague and Unison member, Seaneen McCullough.”

“On July 11, Seaneen sadly passed away following a fall from a balcony while on holiday in Turkey with her son Eoin and partner Paul.”

“Seaneen was a very out going and fun loving person and a great friend to many. Seaneen was a nurse in Ward C in the Mater Hospital and a valued member of the staff team.”

“Unison Mater Hospital branch would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to Seaneen’s family, friends and colleagues in the Mater Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”

A police investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding Seaneen’s death.
