If you’re prone to the odd trip or fall, you’d be wise to be extra careful for the next few weeks.
New figures reveal that Saturdays in July are when the most accidental injuries occur… and seven in ten mishaps involve women.
According to figures released by the Injuries Board, there were more than 2,100 public liability awards in 2014. The amount awarded was a whopping €53m, up significantly from €44m the previous year.
The number of the most common accidents (slips, trips and falls) peaked in July and were most likely to happen on a Saturday.
It might be time we all heed that motherly advice: “Would you ever look where you’re going!”
