Police have confirmed they have discovered a body in the search for missing British school girl Amber Peat.
Amber left her home in Bosworth Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire in the UK at approximately 5.30pm on Saturday after an argument with her mother and stepfather.
A police spokesman said: ‘Amber’s family has been informed and we ask that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
‘Officers are at the scene in Mansfield and inquiries are on-going. No formal identification has yet taken place.’
Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, Amber’s Mum Kelly said the family had just returned from a holiday to Cornwall:
“We are petrified…” she said. “We just want her to know that she’s not in any trouble… we just need to know that she’s all right.”
