Books of condolence open today in memory of those killed in Carrickmines tragedy

Books of condolence are open in Dublin today in memory of those who died in yesterday’s Carrickmines tragedy.

Ten people including parents, a pregnant woman and five young children are thought to have been killed, the Independent reports, after a fire broke out at a halting site on the Glenamuck Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the early hours of yesterday morning. Dublin Fire Brigade has said that early indications suggest the blaze broke out at a pre-fabricated building and quickly spread.

The books of condolence are available to sign at Leopardstown Shopping Centre, the Market Belarmine, the customer services desk at Dundrum Town Centre and the Centra shop in Stepaside.
