Brad Pitt has reportedly filed for joint legal custody of his children with estranged wife Angelina Jolie.
The 52-year-old actor is challenging Jolie’s request for sole custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.
The former couple, who, according to court documents, officially separated on September 15, are continuing with divorce proceedings, with both parties now citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Neither party is requesting spousal support or child support.
Sources reveal that Angelina’s decision to file for divorce is based on a conflict with Brad over his parenting. The actress filed following an incident which saw the Fight Club actor row with son Maddox after he reportedly jumped to his mother’s defence on a private jet.
Pitt reached a temporary deal with Jolie (41) in October, allowing him to visit the children provided he submitted to regular drug and alcohol tests and agreed that his first visit would be evaluated by a therapist.
