According to the Irish Independent, Brad Pitt will be on Irish soil for the next two weeks to film his upcoming A24 movie, The Riders.
The Hollywood star is rumoured to be staying in Dalkey, which is the same neighbourhood Matt Damon temporarily stayed in back in 2020.
The 62-year-old is working alongside director Edward Berger for a big-screen adaptation of the 1994 Tim Winton book The Riders, which is partly set in Ireland.
Filming locations are believed to include the surroundings of Lough Tay (also known as the Guinness lake) in Co. Wicklow, with shoots also set to take place in Dublin, Cork and Kerry.
The film is also set to star Julianne Nicholson (Boardwalk Empire) and newcomer Coco Greenstone.
In addition to Ireland, the film will be shot in several other enchanting European locations, including the picturesque Greek island of Hydra.
A synopsis for the film reads: “Fred Scully (Pitt), who, after travelling through Europe for two years, winds up in Ireland with his wife and daughter. And on a mystical whim of his wife, Jennifer, they buy an old farmhouse that stands in the shadow of a castle.
“While Scully spends weeks alone renovating the old house, Jennifer returns to Australia to liquidate their assets. When Scully arrives at Shannon Airport to pick up Jennifer and their 7-year-old daughter, Billie, it is Billie who emerges — alone.
“There is no note, no explanation, not so much as a word from Jennifer, and the shock has left Billie speechless. In that instant, Scully’s life falls to pieces.”
