Irish reporter is the latest victim of Trump’s misogynistic ways

Are we surprised?

It’s the beckoning that got us this time.

You’d feel like slapping that motioning finger but violence is never the answer people. In the latest saga surrounding the new reign over the White House, President Trump was speaking to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on the phone congratulating him on his recent success.

For the photo op, a number of journalists were allowed inside the Oval Office, one of whom was RTÉ’s Washington correspondent, Caitriona Perry. During the President’s phone call, he said to the Taoiseach “we have all of this beautiful Irish press here.”

Looking at Ms Perry he asked, “Where are you from? Come here, come here… We have a lot of your Irish press here,” before motioning at Ms Perry to come over to the Truman desk at which he was sitting. The reporter politely introduced herself and informed President Trump that she works with RTÉ. He said to the Taoiseach,

“She has a nice smile on her face, so I bet she treats you well.”

Oh, President Trump, we know there’s nothing wrong with a compliment but with your history and… It’s the beckoning, we just can’t get over that foul wagging finger as well as those atrocious and chauvinistic remarks. Common courtesy and respect for all goes an awful long way.

American’s and many more have felt so embarassed over the President’s latest antics, many have even apologised to Ms Perry over the incident.
