Call the Midwife actress Helen George has confirmed filming for series 13 is underway. The star, who plays Nurse Trixie in the beloved drama, posted an update on her Instagram recently.
She posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the Call the Midwife set to confirm the news.
The actress looks as happy as ever as she poses outside her trailer on the set.
She captioned the snap, “S13 @callthemidwife.official.” She wore her nurse uniform, rocking a demure bob hairstyle with a sweeping fringe.”
Earlier this year, the creators of Call the Midwife confirmed series 13 will air in early 2024, but fans can look forward to the Christmas special later this year.
A spokesperson for the show shared, “Since our tumultuous season 12 finished airing at the end of February, our intrepid team have been grabbing the chance to rest up, relax, or else fit in some quick theatrical work before filming commences again!”
“But today marked an important celebration – our team gathered at a plush venue in the west end of London for their first get-together before the cameras roll again and the scripts drop through the doors.”
The spokesperson confirmed the cast reunited in April for a special meal.
“Meanwhile, the costume fittings have begun, locations are being scouted and sets painted – all in readiness for our brand new collection of stories!” they teased.
Call the Midwife will return on December 25th for the Christmas special. The 13th series will air in early 2024.
