Campaign Fail: ‘No’ group shoot themselves in the foot with unpopular stance on surrogacy

The marriage equality referendum is drawing nearer and everywhere in Dublin City we're seeing signs of support for the Yes campaign. From rainbows on lapels, doggies and even buildings, it seems this city, at least, has spoken. On the other side of the debate the group 'Mothers and Fathers Matter' were criticised for posters that appeared in parts of Dublin this week: Mother-of-two, Teresa Byrne was outspoken about her feelings when she spoke to the Irish Independent describing how she was "deeply insulted": “To say that I am not the mother of my children because I could not biologically carry them is an insulting suggestion, and one that is clearly aimed at shaming families that do not conform to this group’s narrow view of what constitutes a family.” From the Yes side of the campaign there have been playful interventions with doctored versions of the 'No' posters cropping up on social media.
