Carers admit to bathing teen with disabilities in bleach causing severe chemical burns

Carers have admitted to bathing a teenager with disabilities in bleach and causing her severe chemical burns.

Garry and Katrina Eubanks caused severe burns to Airionna Bent’s skin from the waist down after they bathed her in bleach, Epsom salts, and other chemicals.

The Iowa teen was submerged in the solution in May.

The Eubanks did not seek medical treatment for Bent’s burns until a few days later.

We Are Iowa reports that the couple took Bent to a hospital in Florida without permission because Katrina’s sister worked there and could provide treatment.

The Eubanks admitted to neglect and are set to be sentenced next month.

Prosecutors have recommended Katrina receive 30 years in prison for the neglect and that her husband, Garry, receive 10.

The kidnapping charges against the couple have been dropped.

Bent is currently recovering at home with her family.
