Charity events happening in Ireland over Christmas

If you’re stuck for something to do over the Christmas holidays, why not check out one of these fundraising events.

A number of charities will be doing bits and pieces over the festive period and you can get involved.

Here are three great events to get behind this year…

Annual Christmas Day Swim – December 25th (Blackrock, Salthill, Galway)

Every year Down Syndrome Galway ask people to “make a splash and raise some cash”. Even if you can’t make it to Galway, you can participate by taking a swim in in your local river or the sea. For more information, click here.

Dip in for Blossom – December 27th (Dollymount beach, Dublin)

The Raheny U11 Ladies GAA Team will be heading into the sea at Dollymount beach in the hope of raising money for Blossom Ireland, a charity which supports children and their families with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. For more information, click here.

Charity Tennis Competition – December 28th (Collinstown, Leixlip, Co.Kildare)

The local tennis club in Leixlip is hosting an open competition in aid of Cystinosis Ireland. The event is open to members and non-members over the age of 14. The entry fee is €10 all of which will go to the charity. For more information, click here.
