

It's from a copy of a painting which was given to him from a breastfeeding mother after an audience with him in Áras an Uachtaráin. Monica Wocial-Finke was one of a hundred breastfeeding mothers invited to Mr Higgins’ home to celebrate ‘Breastfeeding Week’.
The 16th-century painting, which currently resides at the Louvre in Paris, is widely considered to be a powerful symbol of care and love.
The choice has received widespread praise and we really think it is so well deserved. Isn't that a kind of amazing validation to all breastfeeding mothers from our President? Not to mention, gingers too!
