Chelsea Farrell calls out public after ‘weird’ encounters with her baby

"It’s just crazy behaviour."

Back in November of last year, the former Miss Ireland announced that she had given birth to her beautiful baby girl, Aliyah.

Chelsea was previously crowned Miss Ireland in 2019 and also appeared on the E4 dating show, Love Triangle, in 2025.

Despite the Louth native explaining that she has chosen not to share her baby’s face on social media to “protect her” from strangers, not everyone has respected Chelsea’s decision, and she has since experienced some “uncomfortable” encounters in public.

Chelsea took to social media yesterday to explain how “inappropriate” it is when strangers come up to her to “gawk” at her daughter or even go as far as touching her.

Chelsea explained: “They don’t stop me from having a conversation. They’re literally just gawking to see what she looks like because they haven’t seen her on social media.

“It’s making me feel so uncomfortable, and to be honest, I’m just fed up with it now because yesterday just tipped me over the edge.

“I’m trying to protect my baby’s privacy by not sharing her online, and I have strangers coming up to me every time I’m writing about going out of their way to pull at my buggy and stare in at my baby.

“‘Oh, that’s what she looks like, yeah, I can confirm she looks like me because I know that’s the only reason these are all trying to see her, and these are all so obsessed with seeing her.

“This isn’t for people who actually know me or people who stop me to speak to me because they know me, that’s so different," per the Irish Sun.

Chelsea went on to explain two encounters she had while out with her daughter, Aliyah.

“Yesterday this woman went out of her way, didn’t even really acknowledge me, and just came in, straight in," she explained.

“I was trying to settle her [Aliyah], and I was leaning into the buggy, and I was trying to give her her dummy, and she went out of her way to pull in front of me.

“She blocked my view of my own baby to gawk in at her and just walked away.

“I was like, ‘I don’t bloody know you’, but because I’m not sharing her online doesn’t mean you have a right to approach me in public and make me feel so uncomfortable just to see what my baby looks like."

She went on to explain how another stranger decided to follow her and her baby around.

“I think it’s so weird. Yesterday, I had a girl follow me around JD, trying to look into the buggy. It was weird,” she explained.

Chelsea emphasised that she doesn't want to "sound ungrateful" and absolutely "loves" speaking to everyone who politely comes up to her, however, she wants others to "respect her privacy".

She then explains why she's so apprehensive about strangers getting too close to her baby, as she opened up about how she was “attacked” last year, which has only added to her anxiety.

She said: “I think people are forgetting, like this time last year, myself and my mum were attacked by a stranger and when I’m out and about, I’m so vigilant and so on edge as it is.

“So to have all these strangers coming at my buggy is just. It makes me feel so so uncomfortable, and just think if you were in my shoes, how would you feel?"

Chelsea points out that just because she “puts herself out there”, that doesn't give strangers the right to come up to her child.

She explained: “I’m not sharing my baby online to protect her from strangers. So you, as a stranger, should have the cop on to not come over when she’s in her bassinet, like, clearly she’s in there, she’s deep in there, and you have to go out of your way to put your head over it and look.

“It’s just crazy behaviour from people, and I’m just fed up with it, between those two people yesterday that did to me, and I was in the air for an hour, and it’s just making me feel so, so on edge and so uneasy about bringing her out and about.”

She finished off her rant saying: “Naturally, when a stranger comes at your buggy, you’re thinking the worst.

“So I have to deal with this over and over again, and I just wish people would just have the cop on, like if you wouldn’t do it to a stranger, don’t do it to me.”
